From Goodreads. For seventeen years, Eloise Hart had no idea the world of Faery even existed. Now she has been abducted and trapped in the Rath of Lord Strahan, King of Faery. Strahan was only meant to rule for seven years, as Faery tradition dictates, and then give up his crown to another. But he won't comply, and now chaos threatens both worlds.

The only one who can break his stranglehold on the Faery court is his wife. . . Eloise's aunt Antonia. Using Eloise to lure Antonia, Strahan captures his wife, desperate to end the only threat to his reign. Now Eloise must become the rescuer. Together with her best friends Jo and Devin, she must forge alliances with other Fae, including a gorgeous protector named Lucas, and Strahan's mysterious son, Eldric-who may or may not betray them.

Review by Kate
STOLEN AWAY, by Alyxandra Harvey, is another home run for this simply amazing author! With Harvey, it's been vampires and ghosts, but now she has stepped into another paranormal tale...a fairy tale to be exact! Her signature style of multiple POV's, hot lead boys, and electric chemistry is present and accounted for in this stand-alone book.

Harvey has a knack for creating characters that are dynamic and layered. Their back-stories are concrete and I feel like I am just getting a tiny snippet of their lives while reading. Eloise, Jo, and Devin are truly a great trio. They are best friends till the end and I really appreciated their loyalties to each other. Harvey stepped out from the rest of the current YA Fey Queens (Marr, Kagawa, Stiefvater) to create her own undiscovered world. In that world lay the good, bad, and the ugly. Lucas, Eloise's protector, was definitely a 'good'. He is swoon-worthy and sweet!

I liked the whole concept of the story and I felt pulled into it the entire time. I wanted to know more and more as the story went on and I felt completely satisfied at the end. And I wouldn't mind if Harvey wrote another book in this world!

  4. I love Harvey's books, but I am not a big fan of fairy novels. You're review makes it sound different. Perhaps I need to give it a chance. Thanks for the review--I think I will be picking this one up.
